Yes, sadly it’s true. After 40 years of serving the fibre arts community Gemini Fibres will be closing. Exact date to be determined but expect it to be by the end of May.
ALL INVENTORY MUST BE SOLD (including store fixtures). We still have a considerable inventory of a variety of products, books, yarns, small looms & spinning wheels, etc. and we can still special order items in as required (50% deposit required when ordering). We have been working on our new website to keep it up to date with products we have sold out of and/or which items are in stock or “special order”. Orders must be shipped or picked up immediately. Shipping & tax is extra and will not be discounted. All sales are final. Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance. If you already have items on backorder or special order, they will be fulfilled as soon as available but will not be eligible for extra discount.
HOURS: Monday to Thursday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm PLUS the following Saturdays: March 16th & 30th and April 13th & 27th
HISTORY: Gemini Fibres began in 1979 by Lois Pottage who had a vision and need to obtain products & supplies (which at that time, were hard to come by & needed to be imported) to pursue her (& her friends) passion in a variety of fibre-related interests. This blossomed and grew and eventually she began supplying other retailers with products, books & magazines. After Lois passed away in 2004 my father (Aubrey Pottage), my-self (Cheryl, their daughter) and Tanis (their daughter-in-law) assumed the responsibility of continuing the business. It has been a journey and an experience which we have totally enjoyed. In October 2018 Aubrey passed away. This event has precipitated our decision to close the business and retire to explore other adventures.
It has been our pleasure to have been able to encourage and facilitate your endeavours in spinning, weaving, felting, dyeing, knitting & crochet by supplying products & equipment and through our in-house workshops and meeting you at the many events we’ve attended over the years.
We hope that you will continue to pursue your interest in your chosen fibre arts field. There are many great suppliers of all the wonderful products we’ve had the pleasure of representing. If we can be of assistance in connecting you, please let us know.
